Ape Art: What`s wrong with Tommy?, installation, “Bærbare meiningar”, Hå Gamle Prestegard, Nærbø, Norway, 2004.
The exhibition consisted of two parts: “What`s wrong with Tommy?” as a video installation, the video telling the story of Tommy Hilfiger`s production of clothes in Indonesia. And 11 pairs of screenprinted curtains with a pattern from the video, the sweatshop girls sewing the garments, used for the windows in the café of the exhibition space.
The main part of this exhibition displayed the history of the T-shirt. A couple of fake designer T-shirts from “Kunstbruk: Ape Art” were included in this part of the show.
Supported by the Norwegian Cultural Fund.
A cooperation with Marianne Nygård and Cathrine Alvin.
